DOGHOUSE ROSES are a highly acclaimed folk / Americana duo from Glasgow formed by guitarist Paul Tasker and singer Iona Macdonald in 2006.

The tenth anniversary of the band was marked with the release of their third studio album, ‘Lost Is Not Losing” in November 2016 which subsequently gained superb reviews across the music press. On the week of its release it was album of the week on BBC Radio Scotland, and the Daily Express declared that it ‘delivers an extraordinary punch’.

Previous years saw the duo establish their reputation through the UK and Central Europe, touring on their own and as members of U.S. based alt-country collective The Willard Grant Conspiracy.

Two full length studio albums released in 2008 (How’ve You Been All This Time?) and 2010 (This Broken Key) garnered critical acclaim with R2 magazine stating that the music “mines the best of Scottish and American musical influences”.

YORKSHIRE BEST – 15 September 2018

Yorkshire Best is the first in what we hope will be a series of shows featuring the finest local talent. Our first show kicks of in style with appearances from Henry Parker, The Lazarus Boys and Isaac Hughes Dennis.

Henry Parker is a favourite at the Mill and is a stunning guitarist and gifted songwriter. His playing is influenced by traditional folk and blues with a smattering of jazz and psychedelia thrown in for good measure.

The Lazarus Boys are a two piece band from Hebden Bridge: Clive Corner on vocals and guitar, Clive Worley on keyboard and drum programming.

They play all original material, catchy and eclectic in style, from punk to pop from funk to rock. The music is strangely familiar and yet new. And once you hear it you’ll want to hear it again.

Isaac Hughes Dennis is another Hebden Bridge based musician who will be bringing his unique talent and ukulele along. Isaac describes himself as “a 14-year-old goofball who has been armed with a ukulele and put in front of an audience for your entertainment! Watch me pretend to know what I’m doing as I work my way through my eclectic originals, comedic covers, and more! Feel free to laugh (with or at me), clap, dance, and sing along!”

Tickets are £5 in advance and £7 on the door.
