MR DAVE DODO BONES & THE ONE EYED JACKS – Saturday 07 Sept 2019

Mr Dodo Bones and the One-Eyed Jacks lay down a twangy, rattling, lo-fi, down-home country blues with a junkyard aesthetic and songs that speak of a life hard-lived, questionable decisions and many a lost weekend. Add a voice that sounds scraped up off the floor after a bar fight accompanied by instrumentation and arrangements infused with a sozzled, toe-tapping rhythm and lurching melodies. In contrast to scores of bluesman wannabes and posers, Dodo Bones carries an air of authenticity and makes a case for the River Aire being Yorkshire’s own Mississippi Delta.

The band is made of Mister Dodo Bones on vocals, guitars; Richard Bostock double bass; Eddie Roll Morton and Earl Christopher Dawkins guitars; Harry Hamer snare, brushes, cymbals and shakers and Geoff Clout.
